This is an excellent Winchester Model 70 manufactured in 1974. It is equipped with a 22" barrel. The 30-06 caliber is good for just about any medium to large game on the American Continent out to around 600 yards or more. The wood and metal surfaces on this one are as close to perfect as you will find on a 49-year-old rifle. It comes with a leather sling and a Bushnell 1.5 - 4 scope. It has a factory-checkered Monte Carlo stock with a low-luster finish. Please look at the pictures. Basic Information The Winchester Model 70 is called the “Rifleman's Rifle" by many because for more than 70 years, the bolt action rifle has been praised by law enforcement and the military for its precision, accuracy, and performance. It's one of those weapons that can still make people utter “they don't make ‘em like they used to" – but in a positive way, as the original Model 70 featured a Mauser-type controlled round feed and cut checkering.
