Manufacturer was Sturm, Ruger & Company, Southport CT Plant. From its serial number, it was manufactured in 1981, part of a production run that extended from 1972 until 1988. Factory catalog number was KGA-32. Type is traditional double and single action revolver with transfer bar internal safety device. Construction is entirely stainless steel. Barrel is 2 3/4 inch medium type, not full lug, with 5 groove 1:18.75 right hand rifling. Sight system is serrated solid rib that supports a pinned in serrated blade front, with windage and elevation adjustable micro type rear. Cylinder is swing out with Ruger’s easy access thumb latch. Chambering and capacity is six rounds of .38 Smith & Wesson Special or .357 Remington Magnum caliber ammunition interchangeably. Weight empty is 34 ounces, with center of gravity at the trigger.
