Type is Gas operated semi automatic high powered rifle. Model is Type 56, or SKS. Original rifle manufacturer was Jianshe Arsenal in the People's Republic of China. From its numeral 8 serial number prefix, it was manufactured in 1964, as many of its production mates began their shipment into North Vietnam. This one stayed in China until about 1990, imported by CSI, China Sports Inc., in Ontario, California. Construction is milled blue steel barrel, receiver and parts; and Asian Hardwood stock. Barrel is 20 1/2 inch, six groove right hand twist 1:9.45 rifling. Bayonet lug is intact, but bayonet is Not included. The Clinton Administration had us remove all our bayonets in 1994, for fear of drive by stabbings. Sights are hooded post elevation adjustable front with drift adjustable windage, and 1000 meter calibrated military rear sight. Bipod is removable 4 screw steel, correct Chinese GI type, 7 inch to 13 inch retractable. Be advised that the bipod's right foot appears capable of getting into the line of fire from the muzzle. Magazine is Tapco polymer 20 round conversion, readily available even from us at only $19 apiece. Trigger is .312 smooth face, with safety mounted beside it. Pull is two stage, 6 pounds vicinity with moderate felt creep and overtravel. Stock and Hand Guard are ATI Advanced Technologies Side Folder, black polymer, that yields a 14 3/4 inch length of pull with 1 inch right hand cast extended, with a 1 3/4 x 2 1/2 inch drop from the line of sight; and that yields a 32 inch over all length folded, not counting the bipod, to the end of the 20 inch barrel. Weight empty is 9 pounds 5 ounces, including the bipod, centered at the rear sight. This will be, then, and pleasant and economical shooting high powered rifle. This rifle comes to us from its exclusive local civilian owner who bought it new from us 25 some odd years ago. Surface detractions are negligible, two or three small lateral scours, and by our poor memory is how these rifles came. We rate this type 56 as Excellent, 90 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean, we do not believe this rifle was fired more than 300 times since it hit port in California. We’re offering it for only $419.00.
