Smith & Wesson 9mm model 6904 Electroless Satin Nickel Lightweight Starvel 1994 Production 13 Shot Compact 3 Dot 3 Safeties 1 Magazine 108130 S&W Guns > Pistols > Smith & Wesson Pistols - Autos > Alloy Frame
Description: This listing is for the exact pistol in the photos. This 6904 is one of Smith & Wesson’s best pistols ever, with more safety features than anything else on the market. From this one's VAM serial number prefix, it was manufactured in 1994. Its uniqueness lies in its finish. Type is hammer fired, locked breech, traditional double and single action semi automatic pistol. Construction is steel slide assembly, barrel, hammer, trigger, and internal parts combined with a lightweight alloy frame. Barrel is distinctive ball joint muzzle for consistency and accuracy. Bore is 5 groove right hand 1:18.75 stainless, 3 1/2 inch. Slide is carbon steel, with serrations forward of the safety levers, .925 width. Note the full length steel guide rod. Sights are matte blue steel Novak 3 dot, dovetailed front and rear, 3 dot low profile Combat type. Frame is type 3, round cleat serrations face trigger guard with serrated front strap and one piece factory polymer grip. Trigger is .304 smooth faced black matte steel, with matching finish .265 Bobbled Hammer that has serrations on its upper edge. Magazine is factory 12 round; so capacity is 12+1 rounds of 9mm Luger caliber ammunition. Grip is one piece factory with integral mainspring housing. Main safety is ambidextrous decocking. Additional safeties are firing pin and magazine safety. It will Not fire single shot if the magazine is removed. Double action trigger pull is smooth and consistent, 12 pound vicinity; and the single action pull measures about 6 pounds with minimal felt creep. Unlike its Glock and Sig competitors, it will digest anything from lead reloads to steel case to premium ammunition. Frame thickness is 1.02 inch. Overall length is 6 7/8 inches from muzzle to grip frame strut, with a height of 5 1/2 inches from the top of the rear sight to the end of the finger rest magazine floor plate. Weight empty is 26.5 ounces, with center of gravity at the magazine release. Finish is black melonite sights, hammer, trigger, release, pin, and levers; black polymer one piece grip, magazine floorplate, and follower; stainless barrel and magazine body; and satin chrome slide and frame. We often called this finish, Electroless Nickel during the period, as well as Starvel. This 6904 comes to us from service in the Land of Israel, attest the import stamp on the slide's left side. We assume the finish was executed by Star Echeverria for the Israelis. Surface detractions are minimal, principally edge wear to the forward frame, grips, sights and levers. We rate it as Excellent Condition, 90 percent vicinity by our estimate; but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate this pistol been fired fewer than 500 times, no rounds at all for a metal frame S&W. This is one of fewer than 500 known specimens with this finish, and the only one we've had to offer. We’re offering the Smith & Wesson 6904 Compact in the photos for only $ 539.00.
