This is a beautiful revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, extractor, yoke, and barrel and is almost entirely covered in graceful floral scroll engraving with gold inlaid wire filigree along the borders of the cylinder flutes and within the main design on the frame and barrel. Additionally, there is a vignette on the right side of the frame that depicts a skulking fox in gold, with a farm and full moon in the background. The fox has caught the scent of a small rabbit, also in gold, that has hunkered down in some ferns at the front of the frame. The metal retains virtually all of the A.A. White added blue finish which has started to turn slightly purple on the cylinder. The genuine stag grips are in excellent condition with some minor discoloration on the butt and a single short age crack at the toe of the left panel. The gripframe is stamped on the right side with a small rectangular escutcheon: "A.A. WHITE/ENGR.", under the grip. This is a fantastic Registered Magnum embellished by one of America's most sought after engravers and would make a stellar addition to any advanced collection of Smith & Wessons or high grade engraved guns in general.
