Barrel is 22 inch 1:16 Micro-Groove twist, one that outshoots all comers except for its own Heavy Barrel brothers. Stock is fleur-de-lis cut-checkered American Black Walnut. Sights are classic elevation adjustable Marlin Buckhorn rear and high-viz green dot front sight. There is one tiny light scratch on the heel of the buttstock between the rear swivel stud and the buttpad; other than that, we detect no surface detractions anywhere on this 983.
