Introduced in 2011 as Walther's premier striker-fired pistol and upgraded to the “M2” variant in 2013, the PPQ has made a big splash in the tactical auto market. Designed for personal protection and LE use, Walther PPQ M2's have US-type controls and striker-fired actions, providing a constant, smooth trigger pull of 5.6 lbs, considered one of the best available. The PPQ M2 mounts a sturdy black "tenifer" coated steel slide on a light but wear-resistant black polymer frame with an integral mil-spec tactical accessory rail and superior ergonomic grips. Three interchangeable backstraps are provided to fit the grip to your hand size. The PPQ M2 has a reversable US-type ambi magazine release button behind the trigger, a left side slide catch, and mid-frame quick take-down catches. Stirker-fired, 3 separate, internal safeties are built into the gun. The “safe-action” DAO trigger is one of the best striker-fired units available, spec'd at 5.6 lbs with 0.4” travel. Crisp and smooth, the trigger provides consistent shot to shot performance, an outstanding combat feature -- the trigger is the only control to worry about in a tactical situation, and it works the same way, first time, every time. The rear sight is a notch, adjustable for windage, bracketed by two dots; the front sight is a thick blade bearing one dot. The grips are stippled and integral with the frame except for the backstrap inserts. Aftermarket grip tape (removeable) with a fine grit texture further improves hold and control. Built in 2018 ("BI" date code), this gun was purchased new in mid-2019 by its one and only owner, who estimates no more than 200 rds were fired in a range setting with no reported function issues. This PPQ M2's appearance supports the low-mileage claim. Traded in favor of a smaller model for his spouse, this gun is clean and well-maintained in overall NRA (Modern) Excellent condition. Internally, the bore and action are clean, bright, and well-lubed. Although clearly previously shot, action surfaces show minimal wear or evidence of previous firing with only light recoil ring on the breech face. Exterior finish condition is just shy of 100%, the only blemishes noted being light burnishing of the barrel finish behind the muzzle, on the barrel hood under the ejection port due to normal slide travel and lock-up, and a few brass speckles on the finish behind the ejection port. This is typical of Walthers because of their tight lock up and resulting accuracy. Otherwise, there is no sign of finish wear, including all edges, corners, and sharp contours. The mags are also in Excellent condition showing very light wear on the followers and almost no scuffs on the shoulders from mag-well insertion.
