Manufactured in 1919. Excellent bore. Gun has excellent original blue. Grips are excellent. Action works perfectly. Gun is in overall great condition with exception of a slight ring between cylinder stops, slight wear on two of the frame screws on left side of gun, and a little wear on each side of the hammer. The right side of the gun is excellent and gun functions perfectly and has an excellent condition shiny bright bore. Does not appear that this gun as had much field action use. Any wear on this gun is well below what could be expected for a virtually 100 year old gun in my opinion. Gun comes with correct labeled box however serial number written on bottom of box does not match gun for sale. For what it’s worth the serial number on the box identifies a Colt Army Special in the exact configuration as this gun for sale but manufactured about 3 years later than the gun for sale. A very fine Army Special with box. Note: I'm pricing this Colt based on my online subscription of Blue Book of Gun Values whereby this gun is valued at $1,400 if in 100% condition but without a box. I'm pricing this gun aggressively based on BBGV's appraisal of this gun in overall 85% condition and I'm not adding a premium for the inclusion of a box for reasons described above. I maintain that this gun is closer to 95%-98% condition than 85% condition. As a side note I believe most of the guns listed in Blue Book of Gun Values are appraised fairly conservatively except for very rare guns.
