Accepted Payment Methods: Returns: 3 Days Description: General Specs: Colt, Year 1972, .45acp Serial Number: 07182N70 Here we have one sweet Colt MK IV Series ’70 Gold Cup National Match that has been customized for competitive shooting with a Bar Sto compensated barrel, one piece guide rod, extended flared magazine well, Commander style hammer, oversized Magazine release, a super trigger job, and a Pachmayr padded 7 round magazine. The gun was shipped by Colt in 1981 as a Colt Gold Cup National Match and subsequently upgraded for competitive shooting with very practical and professionally added features. The match grade compensated barrel allows for a longer sight plane and the down-thrust of the compensator minimizes felt recoil, reduces muzzle flip, and allows you to get back on target for more accurate and rapid follow up shots so important in the competitive pistol world. The oversized magazine release makes for a positive magazine change and the ejector spring for the mag release is super charged to really shoot the magazine out of the gun. The Pachmayr magazine is reliable and fitted with a rubber base to minimize damage to the mag when rapid changes are required. The extended and flared magazine well allows for blind and rapid reloads when the time matters The trigger is on par with the very best triggers I have ever felt on any gun…those done by Wilson Combat on his pistols that start at almost $3000. The original frame and slide retain the Colt Factory original high-polish blue that these Series 70 guns are known for, with 98% of the blue remaining. The Cocobolo grips are beautiful, and the checkering is sharp and clear. The Bo-mar rear sight is fully adjustable for windage and elevation for easy tuning to the particular load you are going to use at the range. The pre-70 series of Gold Cup Colts were known to have been weakened by the factory milling out weight from the slide to facilitate the use of wad cutter ammo and the lower velocity/pressures that went with the bullseye target games. The ’70 Series have full weight slides and can handle any ammunition you wish to feed your new Colt.
