Description: Very nice condition pair of FN Browning model of 1922 pistols in 7.65mm (32 ACP) caliber produced for commercial markets, and for sale to officers (who were required to have a sidearm as part of their uniforms).

Known as the commercial variation, this pistol variation is considered one of the rarest of the German Nazi occupied Belgium produced pistols since they was made circa late 1944 and were furnished with wood grips. Since the German Nazi armed forces were pushed out of Belgium by allied forces in late 1944, these were probably part of the last produced under German occupation, and is so marked with waffenamts on the left of the frame, left on the slide, right on the chamber, and eagle WaA 140 acceptance stamp on the chamber, and last, designating a commercial variation with the rare triangle mark on the back of the frame (as well as the phosphated magazine).

Research has determined, there are very few known according to PISTOLS OF THE WEHRMACHT, and other research indicates that perhaps between 1000 and 2000 were produced. The serial numbers are all matching. Slides are marked:

FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL BELIQUE and BOWNINGS PATENT DEPOSE.

Considered to have a rough military-finish, they are blued. The bluing is thinning which is to be expected on a military produced near end of run pistols that has been carried probably since it was new back in late 1944, as the Germans were being pushed out of Belgium by the Allied Forces.

Both have their original factory phosphate finish and Browning marked magazines (holds 8 + 1 in the chamber gives it a 9 round capacity). Included with the pistols is a second Browning marked magazine as well as excellent condition military black leather holsters, which are believed to be Dutch, or possibly French and could have been used by their military or police forces. The holsters were made for the Browning M1922 model pistol. A spare striker/firing pin is also included with one of the pistols which has been fitted and is fully functional.

Has a grip safety as well as a safety on the left side of the frame which locks into the slide. The 4-1/2” barrels are in excellent condition with a shiny bores and excellent rifling.

Both guns function just great. Have fired them several times, and they feed and perform flawlessly, and are accurate at the distances it was designed for, all 9 rounds striking center mass of a man sized target.

These are a great addition to a collection containing a rare variation of German Nazi firearm production in Nazi occupied Europe during the second world war.

All firearms laws must be adhered to (buyers responsibility to know their local firearms laws), ships only to your FFL dealer for legal transfer, and is also C&R eligible and can be shipped directly to a holder of a C&R collectors license.

Reasonable offers will be considered.
