This listing is for ONE revolver. Photo shows one of only two Charter Arms Gator variants of its Bulldog series, that were ever made. We got them both, a consecutively numbered pair. Manufacturer and warrantor is Charter Arms of Shelton, CT. Factory variant number was 24430, close kin to the 24420 Tiger. Charter successfully marketed a Gator variant of its Undercover in .38, but not this .44. Type is traditional double and single action true swingout revolver. Chambering is .44 Smith & Wesson Special caliber. Construction is all steel, with the exception of the alloy trigger guard and grip frame, with factory rubber combat finger groove grips. Barrel is one piece 2 1/2 inch, with 8 groove right hand 18 3/4 rifling in a full lug shroud. Sights are solid rib integral ramp front with frame integral fixed notch rear. Main frame is stainless steel, with an alloy grip frame / trigger guard. Cylinder is stainless 5 shot, and the Charter accepts ammunition from a CA44 size speedloader. Trigger is .310 serrated face, with matching serrated spur hammer. Charters generally pull double action in the 12 – 14 pound vicinity, and 4 pound area single action, with minimal felt creep. Ignition is floating firing pin, with transfer bar safety mechanism that prevents the hammer from contacting the pin unless the trigger is fully depressed. Weight empty is 19 3/4 ounces, with center of gravity at the cylinder stop. This revolver is not a fun gun to shoot with full house loads. Finish is factory Gator motif Cerakote main frame and barrel, with stainless trigger, hammer, and cylinder assembly; and with natural gray alloy grip frame. Grips are flat black. This Charter and its mate come from two years in Charter Arms’s vault. They never left Charter Corporate custody until just now. Both of them have moderate cylinder rotation marking, but no carbon residue on their cylinder faces. They are, then, unfired. Both Gator Bulldogs come in their original box with protective wrapper, instruction manual, parts list, Charter Decal, gun lock, fired case envelope dated from July of 2014, YHSA brochure, and never executed factory registration form with Charter lifetime warranty statement. Replacement pricing on their nearest sibling, the 24420 Tiger, is $462 on charterarms com; and the Tiger has a matte blue cylinder assembly, not stainless like this Gator. We’re offering the Charter .44 Stainless and Cerakote Gator in the photos, however, or its identical mates, each for only $ 359.00.
