HG73820U The Firearms Industry was on a binge from the 2008 Election until late 2009. Ever since, we’ve had a hangover. Part of that is to the advantage of the consumer. The Charter .38 Special Lightweight Stainless Undercover in the photo is one of a half dozen or so that we bought on a distributor liquidation. They are in their original boxes with all their papers and fired brass dated from just a month or two ago. These have never had a 4473 form executed on them, but they have been footballed between the factory in Shelton Connecticut and two of their distributors. Charter, then, has sold them as used guns since their virginity is in question. All specimens are at least, as we old head Smith & Wesson fans say, Black on Three. S&W has always shipped new revolvers with three shots of test firing, and some of these have been fired on all five cylinder chambers, all at the factory. At 16 ounces, the Undercover is almost 2 ounces lighter than its chief competitor Taurus 85 Ultra-Light, yet it is U.S. Made. Type on this variant is traditional double- and single-action revolver with stainless serrated spur hammer, and smooth faced combat trigger. Safety is internal transfer bar that guards against accidental discharges if the revolver is dropped. Grips are factory Charter hard rubber combat finger groove grip, capacity is 5 rounds of .38 Special standard or +P ammunition. Unlike its lightweight competitors Smith & Wesson and Taurus, the main frame on Charters is steel, with an alloy grip frame / trigger guard assembly. Also unlike the competition, this Charter Undercover has a one piece steel full lug pinned barrel for strength and stability. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
