With this Talo special edition specimen, Taurus lays its fellow Brazilian Competitors Imbel, whose importer is Springfield Armory, totally in the shade for fit, finish, and features. Manufacturer is Forjas Taurus of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Importer is Taurus International of Miami. Exclusive Distributor on this variant is Talo of Framingham, MA. Type is John Moses Browning design 1911 Government semi-automatic pistol. Construction is all steel: blued steel slide, frame, and parts; and stainless match grade 5 inch barrel. Sights are dovetailed Novak style combat with embedded 3 dot system. Slide is serrated foree and aft, as the photos show. Return system is one piece guide rod with matching bushing system. Safety is ambidextrous serrated surface extended. Trigger is serrated face skeleton type with overtravel adjustment. Photo specimen’s trigger guaged at 4 1/8 pounds with minimal felt creep, and Taurus triggers are exactly like Colt type pistols. Hammer is modified Commander style, with Taurus’s inconspicuous internal lock and two keys. Grip safety is beavertail type; with checkered serrated front strap and Mainspring Housing. Grips are classic Double Diamond laminate, with the Taurus Bull Logo inlaid in their centers. Grips screws are blue steel hex or Allen head. Grip frame features a beveled magazine well; and each pistol comes with a total of two eight round Act-Mag production magazines, 8 + 1 capacity. Weight empty is the standard 40 ounces. Similarly finished Colt Pistols command prices well over $1,000.00. Springfield Armory has nothing like this.
