Swivel Breech, 40 cal Bores VG plus with deep rifling and shiny bores. Mech VG plus. Wood VG plus with silver wolf inlay on the left side and a silver cap box on the right side. Has a Brass cresent buttplate and engraved toe plate. Has 28 ½” oct barrels with original front sights, one barrel has an original rear buckhorn sight and the other barrel has an insert type rear sight. Both barrels are marked MJ Whitmore Potsdam NYwith some engraving . The receiver has a lever ahead of the brass triggerguard which unlocks the barrels so they can be swiveled. The receiver has a floral engraving pattern on both sides. Has a brass triggerguard. Has a wooden dowel ramrod on both sides. Metal overall has a dark aged brown patina finish with the barrels having fine to light pitting in areas.
