This is a non-firing “dummy” rifle made with the inner portion of the barrel replaced with a wooden facsimile. 27” “Barrel”. Two barrel bands; Font has double sling loops. “US Springfield 1863” side lock with hammer. Hammer has no spring so once cocked it does not fire forward; The trigger must be depressed to get the hammer down. Stock is very good with field wear. “D3/22” marker on left side of shoulder stock.
