12 Gauge. Pump action. Rare tournament grade. Even rarer in Black Diamond Edition. 30" Full choke barrel. Impressive condition for a gun made in 1911. Serial # E542923. I can provide several pictures and even a short video clip of it in operation to a SERIOUS buyer who can be the judge. At the time of writing this, from what I can tell, this is the only Model 1897 Tournament Grade Black Diamond being offered for sale anywhere on the net right now. Operates flawlessly. The metal has lost a substantial amount of the original bluing but it's still at least approx. 40% there yet. The wood is in near perfect shape, it's the beautiful upgraded tournament grade wood. I don’t see any cracks anywhere. Two tiny handling marks in the foregrip, three very tiny handling marks in the rear stock, that’s it. I’m not certain of the originality of the rear butt pad, but it is in great shape. No major scratches or any pitting in the metal. Some very light scratches in the bore of the barrel but otherwise very smooth and shiny. It is not the original barrel, the original one was starting to develop a crack and so I retired it. I still have it and it will be included with the gun. This replacement barrel has been video-scope inspected by a gunsmith who verified it’s in great shape. It is 30” just like the original, but it is a standard grade 1897 barrel and not the tournament grade which has an engraved rib. On the plus side it even has identical degree of blue-ing as the rest of the metal on the gun, it matches perfectly. The photos I have will prove this gun has been very well respected and cared for by myself and all previous owners. I am not a dealer.
