Description: If any of y'all pay attention to the categories on Guns America, this rifle is legal for deer right down the road from us in Mississippi. Thanks to Mr. John Malloy for his Gun Week article on the 57-M published in 2005. Here is a specimen of one of Marlin’s most distinctive rifles, the 57-M Levermatic, chambered in .22 Winchester Magnum caliber, and produced only from 1959 until 1969. This specimen comes to us from a retired Ohio Teamster who liquidated his collection with us recently. Since it was never serialized, we estimate it to be from the first few years of production, perhaps even a First Year 57-M from 1959. Surface detractions are minimal on the metal and moderate on the stock. Original matte blue surfaces show only faint whitening on some of the sharp edges, and the scope is similar. Walnut buttstock has fewer than a half dozen small scours on the lower right side rear, as the photos show. White buttplate spacer shows faint amounts of yellowing and pebbling. Scope is a steel tube K-4 Weaver, 1960s El Paso production, with a well aged but intact rubber slip-on cover, also from the period. Unblued bolt surface, exposed at the ejection port, shows moderate brown staining and spotting. Leather military sling is marked 157-T, 1950s or 60s Redhead U.S. production. The sling is dark oiled, very flexible and completely original and intact. Note the superb condition of the trigger’s gold plating. As far as specs, this Levermatic operates with a cam-and-roller system very innovative for the period and also strong and reliable. Marlin adopted the system from a short-lived shotgun manufacturer named Kessler Arms, and this rifle influenced the development of Browning’s BLR Rifles. Barrel is 24 inch Micro-Groove 1:16 twist, and the tube magazine yields a 12 round capability, more than the highly prized 1894M in the same caliber. Scope mounts are original Weaver #1000 steel top 2-screw in Excellent Condition. This rifle is excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. We’re offering this fine, distinctive early Marlin .22 Magnum Levermatic for only $ 569.95.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
