Also marked on barrel rib "Fine Stub Twist". Gilman B Fogg is listed in "American Gunsmiths" by Sellers as having operated in Manchester, NH from 1 selling percussion rifles and pistols. No proofs are present on the barrel proofs to indicate foreign manufacture. 26" barrels of average bore size. Nicely engraved metal parts have a dark patina with light uncleaned rust. A piece of the forward portion of the trigger guard is missing. Stock is very good, nicely grained, has a few minor edge nicks in the forearm, scattered handling marks and a vise mark on either side of the butt. Mechanically good, sold as a collector item only, not warranted safe to shoot.
