Description: General Specs: Winchester, Year 1949, 20 Gauge, 6lbs 6oz, SN#22030

Most double gun enthusiasts are aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of superior strength and mechanical genius created under the micro management of John Olin himself. With only 32,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm sure to appreciate in value as you enjoy its use. From 1930 to 1980 they only made about 2900 twenty-gauge M21’s in all grades, most of them weighing well over 6 3/4lbs., many over 7lbs. To find a Model 21 20ga. that weighs in at just 6lbs. 6oz. is an event. Anybody who walks long distances in the field appreciates a lighter gun by the end of the day. Model 21's are fully capable of shooting the most powerful loads available, SO IF YOU LIKE MAGNUM LOADS FOR PHEASANTS, DUCKS, OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, THIS IS YOUR GUN (we can make it a 3” chamber safely in our gunsmith shop). You can even shoot premium hard non-toxic shot in this gun as it has less than modified chokes and the premium non-toxic loads have full protective shot cups isolating the steel or tungsten from the barrel steel. This M21, sn22030 built in 1949, shows incredible workmanship and desirable features, including FACTORY ORIGINAL FINISHES ON ALL METAL AND WOOD, English style stock, beavertail forend, highly figured wood, ejectors, single selective trigger, auto safety, and perfect mechanics. The 26” barrels have mirror bores, 98% factory original blue, choked WS1/WS2 (WS2 measures .014 constriction or a LM…the perfect upland chokes for hunting over dogs), tight ribs, barrels tight on hinge pin and breech face like a new gun, and clear sharp lettering and stampings. The action is marked “SKEET” and retains 97% factory original blue, perfect screws with the top lever still right of center. The nicely figured wood has great dimensions (see chart below), still retains the original checkered butt (most have been cut and pad added), has no cracks or repairs and excellent factory checkering. We have a Cody Museum info sheet and the gun matches the factory records to the “T”. Most all the Model 21 guns you see for sale have been restored or altered since leaving the factory. To find an unmolested Winchester Model 21 is getting harder to do, and to find one 1/2lb. lighter (or more!) than the rest is a big deal. All these factors add value to this gun and make it a bargain purchase. The wood has some field use marks but nothing serious. If you want the wood to be restored to perfection, we can do that right in our own shop for an added $475 and you won’t have to wait in line to get it done. What a great Christmas gift for yourself or a loved one and offered at a great price. Thanks for looking!
