Construction is all steel, with the exception of the alloy trigger guard and grip frame, with factory rubber boot grips. Barrel is one piece, with six groove right hand 18 3/4 rifling fore in a full lug shroud. Sights are solid rib integral ramp front with frame integral fixed notch rear. Main frame is stainless steel, with an alloy grip frame / trigger guard. Cylinder is stainless 5 shot, and the Charter accepts ammunition from a 36A size speedloader. Trigger is .300 serrated face, with matching flush fit hammer. Photo specimen pulled smoothly at 11 pounds. Ignition is floating firing pin, with transfer bar safety mechanism that prevents the hammer from contacting the pin unless the trigger is fully depressed. Weight empty is 17 1/2 ounces with center of gravity at the trigger. This Undercover comes to us from Charter’s distribution channels. It has served light duty, probably as a sales rep’s sample. Surface detractions are negligible, no more cylinder rotation marking than one sees on its brand new mates on display in shops across the country. If it was ever fired, it was fewer than 20 times.
