Here is one of Smith & Wesson's best and brightest, the 6906 descendant of the Mini. From its TBH prefix serial number, and from identically prefixed specimens we received in July of that year, it was manufactured in 1992, Third Year of Production. Caliber is 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9x19, call it what you will, THE 9mm. Type is traditional double and single action locked breech semi automatic pistol. Construction is steel barrel, slide assembly, internal parts, sights, trigger, hammer, levers, magazine body and innards, all built into a lightweight alloy frame. Only the grips, Mag safety plunger bushing, and magazine floorplate and follower are polymer. Barrel is 3 1/2 inch Devel type with ball joint muzzle collar that ensures accuracy and facilitates disassembly. Rifling is five groove right hand 1:18.75. Slide is serrated rear, .925 wide at the port; with ambidextrous safety levers that also decock the pistol. Slide also houses the firing pin and magazine safeties: the 6906 will not fire single shot with no magazine. Sights are matte blue steel dovetailed front and rear; dot front with two dot Novak combat rear that is drift adjustable only for windage. Hammer is .260 factory bobbed, with .304 smooth combat trigger. Double action first shot pulls at a smooth 11 pound vicinity with 1 inch of travel, with minimal felt creep and overtravel. Single action pull is two stage 7 pounds with negligible felt creep and minimal overtravel. Trigger guard is cleat serration round faced third type, and serrated grip frame front strap. Magazine furnished is an original preban factory issue 12 rounder, stainless bodied with black follower. Magazine release is gunsmith reversable, right hand shooter. Grip is factory polymer one piece, 1.26 inch thickness at the centers. Overall length is 7 inches from muzzle to grip frame strut, 5 1/4 inch height. Weight empty is 27 ounces, with center of gravity at the magazine release. Finish is matte surface stainless slide assembly and levers, with matte black sights; and with Satin Hard Chrome trigger, and hammer. Surface detractions are moderate, principally holster wear on the right side, and on the upper left of the slide. We rate this pistol as Very Good Condition, 80 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. This pistol served in the Land of Israel with the Mishteret Y'Israel, the civilian police. Note the import markings right side of slide and forward under side of frame. We estimate it has actually been fired fewer than 1,500 rounds.
