The P50 is designed with a unique recoil system that is soft shooting and easy to handle. The upper receiver is made from a combination of materials. You will find aluminum is used for the majority of non-critical parts while steel is used in the most critical parts to ensure flawless operation. A polymer lower is used in order to keep the overall weight down. The P50 features an ambidextrous charging handle, safety selector, and magazine release switch. The P50 will open similar to a break action opening up from the rear allowing you to remove the empty magazine while replacing it with another. The good news for fans who already own a PS90 or an AR-57 is that the same 50 round magazines used on those platforms will also work on the Kel-Tec P50. One common question often asked is about the empty shell ejection, it is a top eject and just like any other hand gun the spent cases will eject at a 90 degree angle to the right.
