Description: This is an excellent example of a mid-WWII German K98k rifle manufactured by the Mauser Werke in Oberndorf. All the visible serial numbers are matching, including receiver, bolt components and stock. All of the markings are clear. The receiver ring is marked with the "eagle/135" acceptance proof over "byf / 42". The left side of the receiver and barrel are marked with a single "eagle/swastika" firing proof each; and the left side of the receiver side wall is stamped "Mod.98" in small block letters. It has the earlier style all milled components: barrel bands, trigger guard and floor plate. It is fitted with a correct laminated stock and handguard. The stock is very fine with, with a few small dings and dents typical of a battle rifle. It has a cupped brass buttplate with Waffenamt. The barrel has the standard drift-adjustable front sight with the military tangent rear sight graduated to an optimistic 2,000 meters. It is complete with a WWII Nazi issue cleaning rod with Waffenamt (non-matching) and front sight cover. There is a "CAI ST ALB VT" stamp on the barrel close to the muzzle. The action is smooth, tight and excellent. A very high-quality early Mauser K98k service rifle. We do not charge credit card fees.
