Description: Original Winchester Second Model 1866 Rifle circa 1868 ,17 shot 44 rim fire , full length magazine tube , light incidental pitting on barrel & magazine tube , blue to plum 24" octagonal barrel with sharp riffling , super tight action, discernable but faint barrel markings as to be expected on serials below 25,000 --Henry's Patent Oct 16 , 1860 -- King's Patent March 29 , 1866 -- S# 1918x , trace colors on loading gate and checkered hammer , original fore-end and stock swivels , 4 piece cleaning rod assembly contained inside butt stock , crescent brass trap door butt plate , near perfect screw heads , drop dead gorgeous fancy grade walnut fore-end and butt stock each retaining 90% plus original finish with minor handling wear only , all in all a truly exceptional 1866 Second Model Rifle to be 152 years old .
