Description: This listing is for ONE rifle. Buyers, however, may take any other identical specimens we have in stock at the same per-gun price and with no additional shipping charges. Thompson/Center answers the call of Northwest hunters, wrote the factory in 2010, with the new NorthWest Explorer. T/C continues, with design features such as an exposed breech system, #11 cap ignition and metal sights, the NorthWest Explorer meets the legal regulations of western states. The drop breech design makes access to the breech simple for both loading and cleaning. The Northwest Explorer was invented to comply with muzzleloading season requirements then in force in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Many of us in states where 209 systems are legal still stick to the #11 system with RWS Red Hot Percussion Caps. Photo specimen is one of four identical Thompson / Center #8795 Northwest Explorer rifles we received as old stock, 2013 and final year production of this variant. Manufacturer was Thompson / Center Arms of Rochester, NH, a Smith & Wesson held company. Each rifle comes in its original factory box, but no accessories or manuals were included. Each is new and unfired, and under factory warranty. Metal construction is entirely steel except for the alloy ramrod and trigger group / breech lever housing. Barrel is .50 caliber, 28 inch, with eight groove 1:48 right hand rifling, designed for Maxi Balls or Round Balls. Outside barrel diameter is .870 at the muzzle and forend tip, widens to 1.00 behind the rear sight to the breech area. Sights are factory Williams screw on ramp type front, sight dovetailed brass tipped front blade, and 70 type windage and elevation adjustable rear. Barrel is NOT drilled for scope mounts, but the potential is there on the thicker rear section of the barrel. Ignition is #11 Percussion type, with a relatively massive firing pin that’s sure to make those red hots go bang. Hammer and firing mechanism are falling block type. Hammer is .285 rounded spur and it automatically sits on half cock position with no way for the hammer to contact the pin assembly without the trigger being fully depressed. Trigger is chrome plated .250 smooth face, and the photo specimen gauged at a crisp 2 3/4 pounds with no felt creep. Ramrod is 25 1/2 inch black anodized alloy, with 1/4 x 28 female threads in its muzzle cup that accommodates any standard .50 jag or rod end accessory, including the 3 5/8 inch shaft brass extension that comes with the rifle. Stock is one piece fiberglass filled polymer with checkered laterals on the forend and pistol grip areas. Stock drop is 2 1/4 inches at the comb from the line of sight, and 3 inches at the heel, with a 1 inch right hand cant. This rifle, then, will not be southpaw friendly without some doing that is beyond our ken. Length of pull measures a very adult 14 1/4 inches from the trigger face to the end of the 3/4 inch factory recoil pad. Sling studs are standard Michaels QD blue steel, and match the metal finish on the rifle’s barrel, hammer, and thimbles. Note that the trigger and its housing are white alloy and chrome plated steel. Weight empty is 6 pounds 11 ounces, with center of gravity 2 inches rearward from the rear sight. Replacement pricing in 2013 was $400 or more in most areas. We’re offering the Thompson / Center #8795 Northwest Explorer .50 Inline Percussion in the photos, however, or one of its identical mates for only $ 259.00.

** Rifle only, no tools or accessories are included.**

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
