The frame is stamped ZBROJOVKA BRNO K98 "DOU45". It is a dependable Mauser action rifle that is as solid and tough as they come. The rifling in the barrel is strong and shows no signs of wear. The serial number on the rifle and the bolt match. The frame-mounted magazine holds 5 rounds of 8 mm cartridges. It has the Winter Trigger Guard and the rifle is surprisingly light with its current stock. The stock is unusual, in a good way, with a cutout of a charging lion on one side and a Monte Carlo-style stock cut on the opposite side of the stock. On the Monte Carlo side of the stock there are two scratches, see the pictures. I have done some research and it seems that the K98's are good, accurate shooters that are becoming sought after collectibles..
