Description: This is a beautiful, 5-shot, solid-frame revolver by the noted gunmaker, "William Horton" of Glasgow, Scotland. It was made in about 1864 and is classified as an "antique" so it can be sent directly to your door. The topstrap is marked, "W. Horton, 29 Union St. Glasgow." William Horton moved to Glasgow in 1863 and this was his first address there. He died in 1896 but his son, Oliver, continued registering a series of patents that culminated in the firm's distinctive boxlock gun. Horton was acquired by another Glasgow gunmaker, Arthur Allen, in 1924. This revolver is in excellent condition with 99% of its original nickel plating. It functions fine in both single and double action. It is marked, ".450" on the left side of the 4 inch octagon barrel and is British proofed. The serial number is 22x and with all major parts matching. It has a nice bore with deep rifling. There is a safety on the left side of the frame. Note the large lanyard ring. The beautiful, checkered walnut, saw-back, grip is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. It comes with an original holster which is also in fine condition. Send email address for photos.
