An all-steel, single-action semiautomatic, this is one of many Star BMs previously used as service weapons with South American police/security forces. I purchased the pistol re-conditioned and imported by Interarms of Alexandria, VA.
There was some very minor corrosion present on the matte blue finish, but I was able to arrest that quickly enough. The pistol has since been kept clean and properly lubricated. In my hands, Remington 115-grain SJHPs have chambered reliably. There are two 8 round magazines- one factory, the other after-market. The magazine disconnect has NOT been removed on this pistol.
For some time, I have honestly been torn about selling the Star as it has met my need for an inexpensive, but reliable weapon for personal defense.
Would entertain the idea of a trade in part for a Taurus 85 Protector Polymer .38 Special +P. Other
