It has a 20" S2W profile cold hammer forged proprietary steel chrome-lined barrel threaded at 5/8×24 TPI with a 1:8 twist. The barrel is Mil-Spec heavy phosphate coated. The lower receiver has an enhanced flared magazine well and a rear receiver QD swivel attachment point. The gas system features a user adjustable gas block with Mil-Spec heavy phosphate coating, Rifle +1, and direct impingement. The DD5 V5-CC has a Daniel Defense superior suppression device, a Daniel Defense Mil-Spec trigger, a Daniel Defense DD5 15 inch rail with M-LOK attachment, a 6 position Mil-Spec receiver extension, and a Daniel Defense buttstock that is glass filled polymer with soft touch overmolding. It also features a superfinished and DLC-coated bolt carrier group makes it easy to clean and operate in all conditions. The bolt carrier is equipped with a buffer for optimized cycling and improved recoil impulse. The bolt is designed with enhanced extractor geometry and dual ejectors for reliable cycling. It has an innovative 4-bolt connection system to ensure greater accuracy, and a GRIP-N-RIP independently ambi charging handle with anti-gas features.
