Springfield Armory M1 Garand. This one is serial number 58983xx, made about 1957. It went through a 1964 SA rebuild, barrel is dated April 1964. No import marks. This rifle is in excellent used condition.
We test fired this M1 at 100 yards, and it performed well, cycling through a full eight round clip, ejecting the clip at the end. Watch our test firing at our YouTube channel Fernwood Armory TV.
Two M1 enbloc clips (no ammo), sling and canvas bandolier are included.

SA M1 sn 58983xx Specs:
• Receiver: marked “F 6528291” on leg, also hand engraved “SA 5-64”. Excellent condition, no pitting. We assume the finish is new, has very little wear.
• Barrel: marked “SA Y53” in op rod slot, also marked “P” twice, one with a punch mark, “M”, and small stars and eagle. Bore is bright like new, crown and rifling excellent. Chrome pads at gas port. External finish new condition, chamber is in the white.
• Barrel Gauge Measurements: MW(muzzle wear): ½, TE(throat erosion): 2
• Lower band: 2-piece flat top with roll pin
• Clip latch: late square front type, unmarked
• Op rod:flat side with relief cut, marked “7790722 SA”. Excellent condition, no pitting, very
little finish wear
• Op rod catch: late type, unmarked
• Bullet guide: stamped with notch, unmarked

• Follower rod: long fork, riveted
• Bolt: marked “6528287 HRA .U.”
• Firing pin: half round, no chrome tip
• Sight knobs: T105 postwar type, elevation marked “WCE”, windage marked “DRC”
• Rear sight cover: late type with ribs
• Rear sight aperture: double track, unmarked
• Trigger housing: marked “D28290-5-SA” Small pad, cloverleaf hole
• Trigger guard: stamped with milled hook
• Trigger: late type, no extra hole
• Hammer: marked “C46008-3 SA”
• Hammer spring plunger: early type with wings
• Safety: round top, unmarked
• Gas cylinder: wide sight platform, flat on top of rear ring, bayonet lug marked “C”. Gas cylinder group finish in very good condition
• Front sight: 0.75 wide, unmarked.
• Gas cylinder lock: l bevel front type, unmarked
• Gas cylinder screw: cross slot poppet valve type, marked “T”
• Stock: walnut, has faint circled “P” on pistol grip, marked “RIA EB” on right side. Also stamped “73” near buttplate, and has a brass plate marked “15”. Has had painted markings on the bottom of the pistol grip. No cracks, average dings/gouges, nice appearance.
• Buttplate: flat plunger type, good condition with finish wear
• Handguards: walnut, no cracks, same condition as stock and good color match
• Sling: web, appears to be common postwar type
