Made in 1963, serial number 29099V3 features 28-inch barrels choked IC/M and wearing double beads on the rib, ejectors, mechanical safety with barrel selector, round knob and long tang. ENGRAVING: The Diana pattern of pheasants (left), ducks (right), (quail) bottom and rabbits (guard) among habitat and surrounded by graceful leaf and scroll is masterfully executed and signed by Charles Legiers. The receiver, top lever, safety, lower tang and forend furniture show full coverage. The upper tang has partial coverage and gold "S", "U" and "O", and the barrel has a collar of engraving at the receiver. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 6.4 pounds, length-of-pull is 13.9 inches, drops are 1.5 and 2.0 inches. Stock is nearly absent cast. CONDITION: Bores are pristine, fully on face and the top lever locks well to the right. Ejectors pop with authority. Barrel blue is about 98 percent and action finish is at least 99 percent. Wood is simply spectacular from every angle. Overall wood finish and integrity is about 98%, with light field impressions and one small ding on the right side of the forend near the tip. Given the extraordinary figure of the wood, it is possible that it was special order from the factory or replaced at some point after delivery. Certainly, the recoil pad has been added.
