The Smith & Wesson 6906 and companion 6900 series Mini Type Pistols evolved from custom made Devel guns in the 1970s into the 469 and 669 series in the 1980s, and then into their highest form in the 1990s as the 6900 series. The smaller pistols always accepted magazines from Smith & Wesson’s service sized 59 and 5900 series guns. Specialized Law Enforcement units carried the 6900 series pistols with larger back up magazines, outfitted with PGS’s grip adapter. Here is Mec-Gar’s 15 round magazine for Smith & Wesson Metal Frame Double Stacked 9mm pistols. We have modified it with a PGS brand adapter so that it will fit Smith & Wesson 6900 series compacts attractively and ergonomically. That includes models 469, 669, 6904, 6906, 6924, 6926, 6944, and 6946. Magazine manufacturer is Mec-Gar S.R.L. of Gardone, Gussago , Italy. Importer is Mec-Gar USA of Meriden, CT. Construction is smooth finished heat treated steel body, with smooth milled back weld, steel spring and stop plate, and black polymer tail piece, sleeve, and cartridge follower. Adapter manufacturer is Precision Gun Specialties of Sheridan, MI. Adapter construction is polymer body with steel retaining floorplate. Each magazine holds 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9x19, call it what you will, THE 9mm. That was what our peace officers were after anyway, increased capacity in their small pistols. These magazines will fit any 6900 series Smith & Wesson pistol, including models 469, 669, 6904, 6906, 6924, 6926, 6944, 6946, and 6906NS. They will only fit into Kel-Tec Carbines and Marlin Camp 9 Carbines that were designed for Smith & Wesson 9mm Magazines. They will not fit any other firearm. These magazines give a longer, more stable ergonomic feel to the short pistols. Replacement pricing on factory S&W 6900 series magazines is upwards of $60 apiece, and there has never been anything like this one from Smith & Wesson. We’re offering the PGS Customized Mec Gar 15 round magazines in the photos, however, or their identical mates, each for only $ 34.00.
