Box and Carbine are stamped " Land of Lincoln Sesquicentennial " The upper tang lists the gun as #28 of 500 and the barrel is engraved "Model 94 Winchester Classic". Although similar to the Illinois Sesquicentennial, there are many differences, including having two coins embedded in the stock: Illinois Sesquicentennial 1818 over 1968, 150 years of progress with a plane in the coin. The second coin reads Seal of the State of Illinois, dated Aug. 26 1818. The gun has a chrome saddle ring. Hammer and lever are also in chrome. It has an octagon barrel, not round, and has scroll work around the outside on both sides of the receiver. Also, there is no engraving of Lincoln on the receiver and no "IS" with its serial number 3112011. This is apparently a special edition , which according to the accompanying paperwork says " To commemorate the manufacture of 3,000,000 Model 94's, Winchester has created the " classic" ect. with gold plated loading gates" It has a few faults: a damaged box and several small chips in the metal work where it attaches to the start of the wood stock, which is actually one of the most attractive stocks I've seen.
