I believe all of the parts are original, with the possible exception of the front sight hood, which does have a 'C' stamp indicating carbine. The action is tight, and the bore is quite bright, and the stock trap includes the cleaning assembly in very good condition. The S/N is 415117, placing production in 1888 in which year 5,000 carbines were produced. This is not a museum piece, but neither is the price. It resided for many years in a private collection who's owner has passed. The stock is in very good condition, no chunks missing or obvious cracks. There was one split midway down the butt on the left side that was professionally repaired many years ago, from the looks of it. Additional photos available upon request. This is a solid, sturdy arm that will be a collection asset or completely at home in the deer woods!
