Description: Here is a classic Mossberg 195 series Bolt Action shotgun. Manufacturer was O.F. Mossberg & Sons of New Haven, CT. From its 7000 range serial number, it was manufactured in 1955, only the second year of production before the 195A was introduced in 1956. Construction is entirely steel metal, with walnut one piece stock, polymer trigger guard assembly and safe / fire indicators, and black rubber recoil pad. Barrel is 26 inch C-Lect Choke, adjustable choke, that ranges from wide open cylinder bore to .690 vicinity Full Choke. Chambering is for 2 3/4 inch shells only. Sight system is convetional hex base white steel bead front, with a dovetailed serrated saddle type rear. Magazine is detachable two shot, so 2 + 1 fully loaded capacity. Trigger is .210 smooth faced steel, pulls at 5 1/2 pounds with moderate felt creep and overtravel. Safety is lever typ behind the bolt. Stock is schnablel type one piece, with 13 1/2 inches length of pull between the trigger face and the end of the 1 inch original black rubber recoil pad. Stock is straight with no right hand cast, so this shotgun is somewhat southpaw friendly. Stock drop is 1 1/2 by 2 3/4 from the line of sight. Weight empty is 7 pounds 11 ounces, centered at the chamber mouth. Finish is brushed surface blued steel and semi gloss walnut. This shotgun served crop protection duty on a community farm, a kibbutz, in the Land of Israel. Surface detractions are moderate to extensive, with majority original bluing on the metal and extensive wood scouring as the photos show. Note that the finger groove extended area of the trigger guard is damaged. We rate it as Good Condition, 70 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate this shotgun has been fired fewer than 1,000 times. Replacement pricing on recent production bolt action shotguns by Mossberg and Browning ranges upwards of $1,000. We're offering the 1955 Kibbutznik Mossberg in the photos, however, for only $ 239.00. 2% discount if payment is with USPS Money Order & Not credit card. Any ammunition or personnel in photos are Not included.
