The wooden stock is in good condition with no cracks or chips (see photos). The metal finish is good with some surface oxidation (see photos). The action functions perfectly but the gun was designed to be a training rifle and not shoot live ammo (blanks only) therefore the receiver, chamber and bolt have holes drilled in them. There is a false floor plate as this is a single shot rifle designed for training only and has no Mum or serial number stamping (I have not cleaned this gun). The poster shows Ariel Bombing and the scene is described in Japanese (see photos). At the sale they said this collection belonged to a friend of the family and they knew no other history of the items but stated that this model training rifle was used to train school boys in the use of a rifle however I do not know if this is a fact. I know very little about this type of gun so I took photos of all the marks I could find on the outside of the gun (see photos). Although the rifle and photos look old and original to me I am not an expert.
