Description: One of a kind, matched serial number set of exquisitely engraved Witchita Arms, Inc. Classic rifle and Classic Silhouette pistol, both in 6MM PPC and cased in a hand crafted walnut cabinet. This project began in the late 1970s with correspondence between the owner of the firearms and Ralph P. Bone, Master Engraver, Wood Worker and Knife Maker who died in 2006. These firearms were built by hand and finally completed in 1982. By special arrangement with Wichita Arms, the serial number “15” was assigned to the rifle and to the pistol. The design characteristics and master craftsmen’s features and embellishments include the following – FOR THE RIFLE: a hand crafted stock of presentation grade walnut, selected for its beautiful coloring and figure; a solid rubber recoil pad; a graceful shadowline cheekpiece; fine line hand checkering on pistol grip and forearm with flowing border; Schnabel foreend tip; octagonal barrel; jeweled bolt body with three front locking knobs and checkered bolt knob; and “faceted” bolt shroud. Extensively hand engraved with silver finish in a custom designed grape vine pattern that had as its inspiration a French dueling pistol (19TH Century?) (as described in accompanying paper work). The stock maker and engraver was Ralph P. Bone. He completed the work in 1982, as attested to in the accompanying paper work. His elegant engraving graces the muzzle, the rear of the barrel and front and rear of the receiver, the bolt shroud, the trigger guard, front and rear, left and right sides, as well as the top of the trigger guard bow, the pistol grip cap, the Burris scope ring bases and a set of Burris scope rings. Gold wire inlays embellish the muzzle and the receiver. The serial number “15” is engraved on the left side of the receiver, next to top of the loading/ejection port. OAL: 37 inches. LOP: 13.25 inches. Barrel Length: 18 inches. Muzzle Diameter: 0.5937 inch. Weight: 6 pounds, 2 ounces. FOR THE PISTOL: hand crafted stock of exhibition fancy walnut with beautiful figure and coloring; right hand grip with thumb rest; fine line checkering with flowing border; Schnabel foreend tip; octagonal barrel; jeweled left handed bolt with three front locking lugs, “faceted” bolt shroud and checkered bolt knob; left side loading/ejection port; blued finish except engraving and bolt with bolt handle. The barrel and receiver are milled from a single piece of steel. Extensively hand engraved with silver finish in a custom designed grape vine pattern that came from a French dueling pistol (as described in accompanying paper work). The stock maker and engraver was Ralph P. Bone. He completed the work in 1982, as attested to in the accompanying paper work. The elegant engraving graces the muzzle, the rear of the barrel and front and rear of the receiver, the bolt shroud, the trigger guard, front and rear, left and right sides, as well as the top of the trigger guard bow, and a set of scope rings. The serial number “15” is engraved on the right side of the receiver, next to top of the loading/ejection port. Redfield scope ring bases are mounted to the top of the receiver but are not engraved. Redfield rings are included and are engraved. OAL: 22.75 inches. Barrel Length (i.e. from muzzle to chamber): 16 inches. Muzzle Diameter: 0.5937 inch. Weight: 4 pounds, 10 ounces. (NOTE: THERE ARE 6 GROUPS OF PHOTOS FOR THIS MAGNIFICENT SET OF WICHITA ARMS FIREARMS. USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION AND SEARCH ON "WICHITA" TO SEE ALL PHOTOS AND OTHER WITCHITA ARMS HEIRLOOMS.)
