Smith & Wesson’s 4000 series pistols, manufactured from the late 1980s until the mid 2000 decade, were so well built they will be around for years after most of us are gone. Here are well maintained police magazines, mostly from Atlanta PD, manufactured in the first decade of the present century. Manufacturer was Check-Mate Industries, Smith & Wesson’s primary subcontractor for S&W Factory Magazines for many years, attest the Accu-Guide marking on the magazines’ right sides. These are factory Smith & Wesson magazines. Construction is one piece folded steel body with lateral round count ports, with steel spring and steel floorplate piece; with polymer floorplate and polymer cartridge follower. Back seam is full length tig welded and smooth milled. Finish is stainless steel body, original blue cartridge follower, and correct looking black Krylon floor plate finish. These magazines served for range use only, and issued with red floor plates which we have refinished. Each magazine holds 11 rounds of .40 S&W caliber ammunition. These magazines fit Smith & Wesson 4000 type metal frame pistols in .40 S&W caliber, including the standard 40034026 4043 4044 and 4046, and any of those models’ TSW variants. They will not fit the small single-stacked 4013 type pistols. Surface wear is moderate, principally carbon deposits on the cartridge followers and occasional department body paint. We rate them as Very Good Condition. As range magazines, these did not stay loaded for as long periods of time as their service mates. No one has produced any decent quality magazines for the 4000 series pistols now for 7 years. We’re offering these factory Smith & Wesson Magazines, each for only $ 17.00.
