Includes original box in excellent condition. A paper insert by MGC detailing the ivory content is included. The box is marked Model BRIV17T IVORY/TITANIUM This is a real knife, with a sharp blade, not a trainer. It measures just over 5 3/8" long when closed, the blade is 4 1/8” long. It’s made in U.S. and Bear MGC claims when they say that it means every single part of it was made in USA, they don’t order in parts from elsewhere. The box says High Carbon 440 so I assume that means the bolsters are stainless. It has a nice lock on the bottom that is nice and tight. Stamped on the blade: Bear MGC USA The blade was never used at all and never re-sharpened, it has been kept in a collector case. Taken out and showed off, never used as a knife. I was the original owner, purchased in 2005. As the Bear insert says, Mammoth Ivory has been frozen in the ground for 10,000+ years and it had begun to decay and absorb pigmentation from the ground. This affects the color, there will be variations in the color. Also it gets cracks or imperfections in it over the years the same way a piece of wood might as it ages. Cracks and color give the piece character and design, so don’t expect the handles to be pristine and unblemished. This knife is in the same condition it was when I purchased it, any imperfections are inherent to the ivory and not there by use or damage since manufacture. If you want more photos let me know.
