Description: Browning A5 Light 12 Gauge Belgium Shotgun:

This Browning Belgium A5 Light is in beautiful and fully functional condition. I say that it is an A5 Light because when researching it, Browning’s website said that the Light model has the serial# on the bottom side of the receiver in front of the loading port, which is exactly where this one is. It has a serial# of 7xxxx6, which when I tried to date it according to Browning’s Website, has to be between 1. As it said, you would have to guess but if you take 228,000 and divide that by 36 years, that comes out to approximately 6,334 weapons produced each year which one would imagine coming to this serial# in year 12, which would be approximately 1915. That is if they produced around the same number or A5’s each year, but like the website says, it’s a guess at the original production date unless you have a receipt to show when the purchase was. This is all my speculation after the research I have looked up on identifying this family weapon. My family’s origin is from Belgium and that is why we have had this weapon in our family gun safe. It has been in my safe for at least 15 years and I got this from my father and he’s had it since I was a kid. When I talked to my Dad and we decided to put this fine weapon up for sale, I took it out and loaded it up and fired 5 shells out of it. It worked as it should, no jambs or any problems for that matter. I then disassembled it, cleaned it, took pictures and reassembled it for this sale. When I was cleaning it, I also verified that the serial# on the receiver assembly did match the serial# on the barrel which measures around 29.5” long.

Please look up the history of these Browning Belgium quality made Shotguns for your own interests in this weapon. I will send you what I have by request to save you the trouble. Just ask. thanks.

Most Browning guns were made in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale (FN) until the mid 1970s when some production was shifted to Miroku in Japan. Today's Browning firearms are made in either Belgium, Portugal, Japan or in the United States. With some exceptions noted below. 1 First 10,000 shipped to U.S. Marked with "BROWNING AUTOMATIC ARMS CO. OGDEN UTAH-U.S.A." Very few serial number records remain. Beginning with Serial Number 1 to approximately 228,000. Exact production figures are not available. Year of manufacture on Pre-World War II production is strictly a guess. As far as payments go, I prefer to either send a Paypal invoice or receive a Paypal invoice but will also accept USPS Money Orders or Cash on a physical pickup which a Bill of Sale will be required when in person; as soon as any of these payment forms clear, I will release or ship out the weapon the next business day. If you prefer to arrange a local FFL dealer in my area to get involved, we will need to arrange this type of transaction in advance. As for shipping, from what I understand, I will only be able to ship weapons via UPS or FedEx and buyer is responsible for all shipping, handling, insurance costs plus any other fees associated with a weapons sale. Please ask any & all questions prior to any bidding or purchase because this is an AS IS sale with no returns. In the ad, I have shown all pictures to show the details of this weapon but will honor any
