Here is Glock’s most popular Sub Compact, the model 26. Manufacturer is Glock Ges.m.b.H., of Deutsch-Wagram, Austria, and the pistol is so marked. Importer and warrantor is Glock, Inc., of Smyrna, GA. Construction is steel barrel, slide, and internal parts fitted into a steel reinforced polymer frame. Type is striker fired locked breech semi automatic pistol. Chambering is 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9x19, call it what you will, THE 9mm. Barrel is 3 1/4 inch with hexagonal 1:9.84 right hand rifling. Slide is square surface with rear serrations and well rounded muzzle area, 1.18 inch width and 5 3/8 inch sight radius. Sights are white dot black polymer stake on front, with white outline polymer dovetailed rear that is drift adjustable only for windage. All Glocks are point of aim from the factory. Trigger is .400 serrated face with center safety lever, pulls at 5.5 pounds with 1/2 inch of travel, double action only, every shot the trigger pull is the same. Trigger resets upon the slide cycling. Glocks also have firing pin safeties, but no magazine or other lever safety. Frame has square rib serrations trigger guard, with third generation cleated finger grooves, stippled surface laterals, and rib serrated back strap. Magazine release is right hand shooter, non reversable. This is a Generation 3 model 26. Overall length is 6 3/8 inches, with 4 3/4 inch height with finger rest. Weight empty is 20 1/2 ounces with center of gravity behind the trigger, approximately 27 ounces loaded. Magazines are 10 shot factory, 10 + 1 fully loaded capacity. The model 26 will accept all magazines from its larger size model 19 and 17 siblings. Plus 2 magazines are readily available. Finish is Tennifer Oxide Type slide and barrel, with Flat Dark Earth frame.
