Made by Mauser-Werke A.G., Oberndorf a/N., Germany in 1930-s, as indicated by markings on the receiver (German commercial proof marks: "Crown over B", "Crown over U", "Crown over N"). The receiver displays following markings, "Provincia de Buenos Aires, Policia". Only about fifteen hundred of such carbines were manufactured by Mauser for the Buenos Aires police force.
