This Lightwieght Chief's Special(Model 37 Since 1957)was made in 1955. It was a square butt model with a flat cylinder latch. The frame was alloy and the grips were walnut diamond Medalion that appear almost new today. The trigger and hammer case color is still bright and the sights are fixed. The only flaw are some amall scrates on the left sideplate at the S&W trademark caused by the thumbbreak of a hip holster. The factory box is serial numbered to the revolver but has only the rustproof paper as contents other than the revolver. This 52 year old revolver still mechanically functions perfectly. it is also C&R eligible.
