Prussian Royal Shotgun Guns > Shotguns > Muzzleloading Pre-1899 Shotguns
Description: Fine double percussion 16 ga. made by F. Mundt of Neuweddel, Prussia, for Kaiser Wilhelm I, founder of the German Empire, when he was king of Prussia. Twist barrels, german silver fittings, silver inlays, engraved, carved. In 1861, while hunting on his preserve near Berlin the king fell from his horse, landed on the gun and it discharged into his leg. After his guide helped carry him back to the lodge Wilhelm gave him the gun. The guide wired the broken stock together, took it with him when he emigrated to America in 1866, and hunted with it until 1920. It has been completely restored by Coles of Dunedin FL.
