The exclusive octogenarian owner of this revolver bought it new in Lexington, Tennessee, by his recollection in the 1950s. Since is was manufactured in 1972, his memory slipped a bit; and the price he paid - $100 sales tax included – is consistent with early 1970s pricing, before the onset of drastic inflation. The revolver’s detractions are as follows. There is about an 100 degree area of the muzzle front with white showing. The unblued and therefore unprotected white steel hammer sides have about 30 percent spottiness on either side. There is one tiny area of white on the forward cylinder flute near two of the edges. Cylinder is lightly and narrowly marked. About 20 percent of the checkering on the rear right grip panel has its raised areas slightly flattened. The box is original, but someone has removed the red insert area. All of this is visible in the photos.
Strengths vastly oughtweigh detractions. Fully 95 to 98 percent of the original blue remains. Bore and cylinder chambers are excellent. Revolver is excellent mechanically, no screw stressing, full bright blue on the trigger and hammer upper and lower. Since the 3 inch versions of Smiths and Colts were not as popular as the 2 inchers, they are naturally scarcer. Revolver has been fired fewer than 20 times. Own this excellent Detective Special, serial number B102xx, part of Colt’s sideline production during the Vietnam War, for only $489.95

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
