This is a Winchester Model 1894 Saddle Ring Carbine in .30WCF. That's not exceptional. What is exceptional is that this gun is in mint, unfired condition. It was manufactured in 1916, and is standard in all respects. It has a ladder carbine sight, carbine butt and pinned blade front sight. There are no special order features. As the gun is too late to letter (serial #789XXX), it was sent to George Madis for authentication. That letter accompanies the gun. The gun has gumwood stocks, making it somewhat rare, and other than a handling mark here or there, the stocks are new, as is the metal. The only blemish on the metal is a slight discoloration on the upper tang around the upper tang screw. It is surface, and may be just a slight patina. We will ship this gun insured by means mutually agreeable.
