This Remington is a model 700 FS. It was made in 1987 and has been my personal hunting rifle for 15 years. Armed with the serial number, the Remington factory Rep told me what it is. Most people have never see this model. The metal is finished with a very tough matte finish. The stock is made of hand layed up layers of fiberglass and epoxy. The stock does not have the normal synthetic stock hollow sound. You notice right away that it is not your normal synthetic/plastic stock. The stock has a slightly textured finish, not smooth or slippery. This model was made for three years. Remington discontinued the FS because it was too expensive to make. And it had a Remington Factory competitor, the 700 KS - Kevlar Stock. The KS is slightly heavier than the FS but it has a detachable magazine, the FS does not. This rifle has only the slightest small dings. The bore is excellent, the trigger is excellent and it shoots 1" with factory ammo. It has Leupold Double Dovetail matte finish rings and mounts. The rifle weighs 6 1/2lbs, dressed as you see it. More images are available upon request.
