Colt .22 Lightining pump action rifle. Only manufactured from 1887 to 1904, the serial # "32238"
tells you that it was made before 1898. Standard grade .22 Long rifle has an octogon barrel
that is 24" long. Good rifling, bore is very good, no rings. Exhibits some lead fowling but no
pitting. The barrel is in the brown or browned. It has dovetail blade front sight, and a
dovetail semi-buckhorn rear sight. Has a smooth standard trigger, and is tube feed. The receiver
/ frame is in the brown, works very well, some slight blueing. The left side of the receiver,
displays the "Rampant Colt" and wired together. Standard Colt pump, walnut stock handle that is
cracked lengthwise. 13 3/8" LOP, walnut stock, over a rampant colt butt pad. The stock has
numerous scratches and marks but no cracks and is fuctionally sound. There is a shallow chip out
of the right side of the stock about the size of a quarter and about the same depth as a quarter.
It is overall turning to a brown patina color. The markings are "Colts P.T. F.S. MFG CO. Hartford
CT, U.S.A. Patented May 29, Sept 18,83 May 26,85 June 15,86, and 22 Cal.
