This rifle was refinished and restored several years ago by one of our most talented local gunsmiths. It has excellent eye appeal. Upon very close scrutiny, and only very close scrutiny, a person can make out the residue of light pitting that affects about 25 percent of the blue surface area. That said, the restoration is an excellent hot-blue job. Wood is excellent with no cracks, but lightened pecking remains near the buttplate and forend tip that affects less than 10 percent of the surface area by our estimate. There are two moderate finish run areas, one on the right side of the buttstock and one on the right bottom area of the forend. Bore and mechanism are excellent. Barrel length on these is, of course, 24 inches.
