The swell goes all the way around except for the rib, and the rib appears tight and intact. The barrel is not entirely straight any more, either: it bends downward perhaps 3-5 degrees forward of the bulge. This is, of course, an Extra Barrel for the Smith & Wesson Model 1000 gas-operated Shotgun manufactured from the 1960s to early 1990s by Howa in Japan. It is 30 inches long, Ventilated Rib, Full Choke – a very tight .680 constriction. Finish is about 75 percent, with some blue weakness and spotty brown toning affecting about 30 percent of the barrel’s exterior surface.
